Welcome My Dearest Friend!

WE HAVE GREAT NEWS!!!

A COMPLETLY NEW

WEB SITE FOR YOU.

Ralph Waldo Emerson had said:

"Once you make a decision, the universe conspires to make it happen."

Make the Happiness Decision Now!

This can be the best day for the rest of the "Best Of Your Life!"

John Barrymore said:

"Happiness often sneaks in through a door you didn't know you left open."

Listen to the Exhortation of the Dawn!
Look to this Day!
For it is Life, the very Life of Life.
In its brief course lie all the
Verities and Realities of your Existence.
The Bliss of Growth,
The Glory of Action,
The Splendor of Beauty;
For Yesterday is but a Dream,
And To-morrow is only a Vision;
But To-day well lived makes
Every Yesterday a Dream of Happiness,
And every Tomorrow a Vision of Hope.
Look well therefore to this Day!
Such is the Salutation of the Dawn!

HAPPINESS MENTORS!

Hello my dear friends! I want to express my gratitude to the individuals who are working to make this world a much happier place for everyone. Thank you to everyone who has helped bring happiness to others...thank you from my heart!

I have to begin with Jon Van Gorder. Jon runs an advertising photography studio in the Galleria Building located at 63 Unquowa Road in Fairfield. He has completely and creatively redone our Happiness Club web site. Jon has done so much work in promoting happiness sometimes I wonder if Jon is a real person or an angel. I am very fortunate to have a man like Jon who truly understands the value of happiness because he is helping to spread it worldwide.

Our completely redesigned web site, www.happinessclub.com is available to you right now, thanks to the work of Jon Van Gorder.

We have the honor of having incredible people on the Happiness Club web site. People that have been doing the work of happiness mentors; some of the wonderful people you will meet are:

Dr. Robert Muller, who has served as a former Assistant Secretary-General of the United Nations. Dr. Muller is the author of twenty-two books, including Most of All They Taught Me Happiness. He received the UNESCO Peace Education Prize in 1989, the Albert Schweitzer International Prize for the Humanities in 1993 and the Eleanor Roosevelt Man of Vision Award in 1994. He was the Nuclear Age Peace Foundation World Citizen honoree for 2002. Since 1984, this Foundation has honored some of the great peace leaders of our time, including Archbishop Desmond Tutu, The XIVth Dalai Lama, Jacques Cousteau, and King Hussein of Jordan. In recognition of his work, Dr. Muller has been nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize thirty-two times. He is considered the "father of global education."

Bernie Siegel, MD, who wrote the best-selling book, Love, Medicine & Miracles in 1986. Since then he has written many books that have become very popular with people all around the world. In January of last year he wrote a book called 365 Prescriptions for the Soul, Daily Messages of Inspiration, Hope, and Love. Bernie's latest books are 101 Exercises for The Soul and Smudge Bunny, a children's book that teaches children that difficulties can become blessings. In 1978 Bernie started Exceptional Cancer Patients, a specific form of individual and group therapy utilizing patients' dreams, drawings, and images. ECaP is based on "carefrontation," a loving, safe, therapeutic confrontation, which facilitates personal change and healing.

Rabbi Zelig Pliskin who has written twenty books including the most comprehensive book on happiness I have ever read. The book is called Gateway to Happiness. I never thought I would say that one book could be the best on the subject of happiness, but I can definitely emphasize this point. The wisdom contained in Gateway to Happiness is essential for the individual seeking the happy life. As Rabbi Pliskin says, " Happiness is a skill that can be learned. The essential factor as to whether or not you will live a happy life is based on your attitudes toward life, toward yourself, toward other people, and toward events and situations."

Robert A. Nozik, MD who wrote the book, Happy 4 Life: Here's How to Do It. In this book Bob reveals all the secrets he's unearthed for getting the happiness we all dream of having, and he saves us 20 years in the process. Bob formed HaPl, Happy People, Inc., an organization dedicated to the study and celebration of happiness. He is conducting the Happiness Club Meetings in San Francisco, California with Aymee Coget, MA.

Aymee Coget, MA. who has been successfully leading the California Happiness Club since January of 2004 and has recently partnered with Dr. Nozik. Aymee has her own leadership coaching company where she uses happiness principles and strength-based techniques to aid in the leadership development of her clientele. While working with the Happiness Club, Amyee is also working on her dissertation for her PhD in Organizational Psychology. Her dissertation focuses on feminine authentic leadership development.

Richard Ellis, MD, who received his BA and MD degrees from Johns Hopkins University. In 1998 he read Dennis Prager's book, "Happiness is a Serious Problem" and became aware of the large number of people living unhappy lives. This motivated him to read a number of other books about happiness and to teach several classes about happiness at Lifetime Learners Institute at Norwalk Community College. Most recently, Dr. Ellis has taught a course called "The Wisdom Concepts" at Lifetime Learners Institute. In addition, Dr. Ellis has collected many insightful and inspiring quotes for over 20 years. Dr. Ellis also attends the Fairfield Happiness Club meetings, presents his wisdom and thoughts on happiness and selects quotes for the audience.

Lynette Anneslia Turner who is committed to helping people from all walks of life embrace a path surrounded with light and love, so that they will live a more fulfilled and positive life. She finds that attending and participating in the Fairfield Happiness Club meetings helps her continue down the happiness path. Lynette has given presentations to the club. She also has a gift of singing and writing positive music. She has inspired our audience with her voice and lyrics.

Kathy Ward who is our Ambassador of Happiness for Elders. Kathy is a Recreation Therapy Consultant and cofounder of WEL, World Elder Land™. Kathy strongly believes in, and has dedicated the last ten years of her life to, the betterment of elders and the communities they live in. Kathy is the author of "A Happy, Inclusive and Meaningful Recreation Program for Elders" and most recently "The Journal For A Better Life". She is a graduate of Florida International University, with a degree in Psychology. She is a Group Psychotherapist and National Assisted Living Administrator Certified and Recreation Therapy Consultant.

Julian Kalmar who was struck down by a serious back injury in 2002. For 3 years he spent 22 hours a day flat on his back, in pain and unable to sit. He lost his clients and his 6-figure income. Five back-surgeries later—like a phoenix arising from the ashes—he arose to find himself providing kindness and hope by teaching powerful methods for inducing deep feelings of well being. The happiness work he is now doing is amazing.

Jane Bradley who is our Canadian Ambassador of Happiness pursued a degree in Psychology at Brock University in St. Catharines because they did not have classes on Fridays. She followed up with a career counseling disturbed teenagers, both in Toronto and St. Catharines, accidentally discovering her bliss. She continued to expand her front line experiences, counseling immigrants, refugees, abused women and their children, before opening her private psychotherapy practice in 1989. Her areas of expertise include relationship issues, surviving physical and sexual abuse, overcoming addictions, managing stress, depression and eating disorders.

I also must thank Nancy Simon who runs the Fred Villari's Self-Defense Studio in the Galleria Building at 63 Unquowa Road in Fairfield. Nancy and her husband Jerry are both highly skilled black belts and caring instructors. Nancy has been an extraordinary editor. She is a constant source of help in checking for accuracy, and being of assistance in every way possible to spread happiness.

Join these happiness mentors in bringing the awareness of happiness to everyone you know and love.

Our next Happiness Club meeting will be a presentation called: "Conversations in Happiness!" by Lionel Ketchian. The meeting is Thursday, November 10, from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. at the newly renovated Fairfield Public Library, in the Memorial Room at 1080 Old Post Road, Fairfield. Meet some wonderful people using happiness in their lives. Admission is free; everyone is welcome.

Lionel Ketchian is the founder of the Happiness Club and can be reached at PrintLRK@aol.com. The Web site is www.happinessclub.com.

Hello my dear friend Lionel,

The new Happiness Club website looks great. I wish you continued success in spreading happiness to many, many people all around the world. The picture of your great smile is fantastic. May we hear good news from all around our small planet. It's a relatively small place when compared with outer space. But there is a lot of challenges going on in many areas of the world. Doing what we can to spread happiness makes it a bit easier to handle the challenges.

I wish you all the best always.

Hi Lionel, The website looks terrific! I, in my low-tech way, put a message on it. I don't know what I'm doing technically but it seemed to take.

I had a fantastic time visiting you and feel our face-to-face brought us even closer, if that's possible. Your Fairfield Happiness Club group is filled with love and happiness and is a true reflection of who you are and your positive influence over everyone with whom you come in contact.

Our California Happiness Club meeting was great yesterday and Dale Ironson gave a wonderful description of how to use emotions for increasing vibrational energy; very reminiscent of what is posited in Power vs. Force, by David Hawkins, MD, Phd.

All my love and happiness and everything else of higher vibration to you, Bob Nozik, MD

Happ-E-Mail :)

Hi Lionel: Hope all is well with you and your happy in mind and spirit. I was just visiting your website and I love it...GREAT!!! It makes me happy.

I am ready to start the Happy Zone campaign in all retirement centers for elders and I am planning to send a note out this week using my blog. It will come with an article about Happiness and the biochemistry positive changes to nurture the immune system but above all the mind and soul. My goal is to visit as many retirement centers as possible and 'certify each community' as a Happy Zone place.

Perhaps in the future I could send you photos and names of retirement centers that have been certified as Happy Zones...perhaps you could add this information to your website so people would visit your website...etc.

Many blessings to you. Be happy! Kathy Ward

Dear Lionel, I found you on the Internet. I like your work. You also run a weekly TV show?
I plan to do so in Europe, UK, SPAIN, GERMANY. Could I see one of your shows on Video?
Maybe we could co-operate? Right now I am based in North Germany, and the South of Spain, but am into different projects, writing, TV Show and Films.

In the preparation are films to be made in LA as well, isn't it about time Hollywood became "happier", too?!!! Best wishes and kindest regards, Andrew Carson

……It’s here. The Thanksgiving Basket Brigade

Hi everyone, I hope this year has brought you all inner prosperity! The time has come again and we have set a date of Saturday, November 19th for the Big Basket delivery day. The Connecticut Basket Brigade was inspired from the larger international efforts of The Basket Brigade organization created by the The Anthony Robbins Foundation in San Diego, CA.

Since 1994 on the weekend before Thanksgiving, volunteers have been putting together and delivering baskets with all the fixins’ to those in need in the greater New Haven and Bridgeport, CT areas. We work with several agencies to find the families needing assistance. These agencies include: CCCC (Coordinating Council for Children in Crisis), Yale Child Study Center, Cornerstone, Bella Vista, and The Kennedy Center.

A typical basket that we provide may include: turkey, stuffing, potatoes, cranberry juice, vegetables, brownie mix, pie, juice, donated personal care items, a toy, books…..and other goodies. For the first 9 years we provided 100-125 families with food. The last 3 years we reached a new plateau feeding 185 families. A donation of $250 feeds 10 families, $125 feeds 5 families, and $25 feeds 1 family. Any donation will help tremendously! One hundred percent of your donations go towards purchasing food and toys.

All donations are tax deductible and can be given to your contact, or mailed to: CCCC (the Coordinating Council for Children in Crisis), 131 Dwight Street, New Haven, CT 06511. Please indicate "Basket Brigade" in the memo section. CCCC is a non profit organization who has been providing client names and assists with our efforts every year. Upon completion of the Basket Brigade, CCCC will mail a thank you letter (an employer may want to hang this up) which with your canceled check will be your receipt.

Happiness is one of the most important things in your life. Happiness is an inner state of well being. A state of well being that enables you to profit from your highest: thoughts, wisdom, intelligence, common sense, emotions, health, and spiritual values in your life. Happiness does wonders for your soul. Practice "Premeditated Happiness." Happiness is an issue of power. We give our power to others for many reasons, and we think that they will make us happy. The truth is that we have given others power over ourselves. We can take our power back in order to be happy again. Now is the time to learn to use happiness in dealing with challenges and difficult people in your life so you can develop the strength to prevail.
